Imagine (Present Tense)

The Occupy Wall St. movement is inspiring to me. Today, it made me think of the promise of John Lennon’s, “Imagine,” and what it would sound like in the grammatical present tense.

There is no Heaven.

No hell below us.

Above us only sky.

All the people are

Living for today.

There are no countries.

There is nothing to kill or die for.

And no religion too.

All the people are

Living life in peace.

The world is one.

There are no possessions.

No greed or hunger.

A brotherhood of man.

All the people are

Sharing all the world.

The world lives as one.
